Our offerDiscover the most beautiful Himalayan regions with impeccable professional guiding offered in a friendly atmosphere.
Our missionHimalayan Ecotourism is a social enterprise based in Himachal Pradesh, India. We are right on the edge of the GHNP (Great Himalayan National Park).
Ladakh, the « land of high passes », is bordered by Kashmir to the West, the chain of the Karakoram to the North, and Tibet in the East.
Ladakh, is also known as « little Tibet ». It was preserved from the Chinese oppression of Buddhism. This is a unique opportunity to be introduced to Tibetan Buddhism.
Ladakh offers a wide variety of landscapes typical of the high desert plateaus. The incredible geology of Zanskar, the pristine beauty of the mountain lakes, the highest paved roads in the world, and the vast deserts of rocks and dunes in the Nubra Valley. Ladakh also offers ecosystems hosting many plant and animal species rare as snow leopard, the ibex, bear Brown and many others.
Located southeast of Ladakh and bordered by Tibet to the North, the Lahaul and Spiti district has much in common with Ladakh. There are many monasteries where Tibetan Buddhism is practiced. The road that crosses the district goes through beautiful and unspoiled Himalayan landscapes. Tourism is less well-developed than in Ladakh, which is a significant advantage for those looking for a more authentic experience.
Unlike Ladakh and Lahaul Spiti, the green Himalayas are not protected from the monsoon rains. So the vegetation is abundant and offers bio-diverse ecosystems. We offer trekking in the GHNP (Great Himalayan National Park), recently inscribed as a World Heritage by UNESCO. We can also arrange visits to Dharamsala, the home of Dalai Lama and a large Tibetan community. For the more adventurous, we offer rappelling, climbing, rafting and river crossings.
