We understand that the families having a member who is physically- or mentally-challenged have to endure many complications in life.
And this may lead to not being able to do all the things that they would have liked to do in life. Hence, a kind of frustration, a feeling that they are missing important experiences and that they have to compromise on the overall quality of life.
We believe that one of the most important experience in life is experiencing the wild nature. In the modern context we call that "Forest bathing". And we further believe that escaping the everyday context to immerse oneself into the wild can have very good healing effects on those who are unwell. We call that "Nature therapy".
Therefore Himalayan Ecotourism decided to offer "forest bathing", and hence, "nature therapy" to the people who really need it : families with physically- or mentally-challenged members.
We do it in the form of camping in the wild. Plus of course other facilities and activities depending on your needs and request.

The experience of being in nature has healing effects that can help such families who face difficulties related to the challenges of one of their member.
Who could go ?
With what handicap ?
Any handicap can be managed. In case the handicap is serious, the disabled person must come with other person well versed in assisting this particular kind of handicap. Our team will provide logistic support and other adequate equipment when required.
Larger groups ?
Yes of course. The number doesn't really matter to us provided it remains a peaceful experience for everyone.
What services do we provide ?
From the road to the campsite
That is an important aspect of the experience. In case the challenged person has difficulty to move we provide the required support staff to help. A joelette is also available for those who are not able to walk at all. Be aware that a wheelchair won't help reaching the campsite.
At the camp
We provide all the equipment for a comfortable camping experience. In case the challenged person needs a special chair to sit, please let's know. Together we will figure out if we can provide it, otherwise you will have to provide it and we will carry it to the camp.
Any other special assistance
We offer you the best assistance we can with heart. This means that our staff will always be with you to ensure comfort and safety, and also we will gradually have more special equipment for disabled persons. Above this we will need your collaboration :-)
