Accommodation in the Great Himalayan National Park

During your trek

While trekking in the core of the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP), you don't have any other option for accommodation other than sleeping in a tent. The camp sites are set up at flat areas known locally as thach.

In a few strategic places, there are small rudimentary huts. The huts barely provide any protection and serve more as landmarks than accommodation. There could be no roof and there certainly is no bed or electricity. There are huts at Rolla, Shakti and Maraur, and other places. However we still recommend you to sleep under tents at these places. We provide high quality tents along with the supplementary equipment like sleeping bag, sleeping mattress and camping equipments. See here our different plans and photos of our equipment.

Before and after your trek

For your stay in the Ecozone before and after your trek you have several options. On your request we can include accommodation in your package.

Guest houses

These are usually located right next to the road. The rooms are quite comfortable. Toilet and bathroom are individual. There is a small restaurant in the premises of the guest house. The rate for a double room ranges from 1,000 Rs to 4,000 Rs a night.

Homestays

Most of the homestays are located in the traditional villages, so it is not always reachable by vehicles. They rarely have attached bathroom and it is very basic but it is a great experience being with the villagers and experience the local culture. Prices usually start Rs 500 per room, food extra.
